Somatic Manual Therapy

Cultivating a Christ-centered renewal within the family

Two lines of work, each a twelve-session arc over roughly three months. 90 minutes, $275 per session.

A distinctly Christ-centered private practice serving Christian families in the Inland Northwest, Hawaii and beyond. A small, quiet resource available strictly by direct referral and built on the call to Remembering God’s Design — Restoring the Body and Renewing the Mind. By combining targeted manual therapy with an orderly focus on calming a hyper-vigilant nervous system, this work aims to help Christians heal from the inside out.

Ultimately, we look at your posture, movement, and renewed clarity of mind to declare the absolute sovereignty of the God who planned it all.

“For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.” Romans 11:36

Every fiber and structural pathway moves in perfect obedience to His eternal decree. This complex architecture calls us to look entirely away from the creation and worship the Creator alone, who formed us in His image to advance His glorious Kingdom throughout the earth.

Manual Therapy — Restoring the Body

Hands-on work through the body’s connective tissue, taken in a deliberate order: from the superficial sleeve, into the deep core, and finally integrating the whole structure. Each session builds on the one before it.

The twelve-session arc

This approach reorganizes your entire structure across a series of distinct sessions, moving from superficial tissue layers to deep core structures, and finally integrating the whole body.

  • The Sleeve Sessions (1–3). Breath, then support, then sides — freeing the ribs and diaphragm, building a stable foundation at the feet and ankles, and opening the lateral lines.
  • The Core Sessions (4–7). The inner line and pelvic floor, the deep abdominal wall and psoas, the back line and sacrum, and finally the head, neck and jaw.
  • The Integration Sessions (8–10). Coordinating the pelvic and shoulder girdles, freeing deep rotational imbalances, and balancing the whole system as one unit.
  • Completion (11–12). Joint space and articular freedom, then structural completion — putting the newly aligned body into everyday motion.

Your first session

The first hour is primarily focused on opening the breath. By releasing structural restrictions around your rib cage, torso and diaphragm, we establish a spacious foundation for the rest of your posture work.

  1. Intake & postural assessment

We review past injuries, surgeries, chronic patterns and daily ergonomics. You’ll be asked to stand, breathe and walk briefly so natural alignment and movement adaptations can be observed.

  2. Hands-on fascial work

Direct manual therapy targeting the fascia of the chest, ribs, shoulders, back and outer hips. Pressure is applied slowly and intentionally; you may feel a deep stretching sensation or localized warmth.

  3. Post-session care

Hydrate well and rest for the remainder of the day. Many clients report feeling lighter, taller or more stable. Mild, workout-like soreness over 24 to 48 hours is entirely normal.

Somatic Therapy — Renewing the Mind

Work with a nervous system that has learned to stay on guard. Through grounding, orienting and tracking sensation in small, manageable doses, the body relearns that it is safe to settle.

How the work is done

Sessions work with the body rather than the story. Rather than recounting a narrative, you’ll learn to redirect attention to what is happening physically, right now.

  • Pendulation. Alternating attention between activation and calm, so the nervous system expands its capacity to hold sensation without overwhelm.
  • Titration. Approaching difficult material in very small doses — like opening a pressure valve one turn at a time.
  • Somatic tracking. Observing sensation with curiosity rather than reactivity, and discovering that sensations shift and resolve as they are acknowledged.
  • Grounding & orientation. Scanning the room, noticing sounds, feeling the weight of the body — engaging the natural orienting response that precedes fight, flight or freeze.
  • Resourcing & containment. Building a felt sense of safety and personal space that deeper work can rest on.

Your first session

The first hour is primarily focused on establishing safety and tracking. Bringing awareness to physical sensation and nervous system responses creates a supportive foundation for the work ahead.

  1. Intake & nervous system assessment

We review your history, current stressors and physical symptoms to customize care and pacing, and observe your body’s stress responses and capacity for regulation.

  2. Guided awareness & resourcing

Verbal prompts help you track warmth, tingling, tightness or ease, and identify areas of calm, strength or neutrality. The process is collaborative and moves at your pace.

  3. Post-session care

Hydrate, rest, and avoid emotionally demanding tasks for the remainder of the day. Many clients feel more grounded, calm or clear-headed. Mild fatigue or shifts in energy over 24 to 48 hours are normal.

Practical details

What to expect

A few things worth knowing before your first appointment.

  • Session length. 90 minutes for both Manual Therapy and Somatic Therapy.
  • What to wear, manual work. Shorts, or two-piece flexible workout clothing.
  • What to wear, somatic work. Comfortable, loose-fitting or flexible clothing you can sit and move easily in.
  • Active participation. Both approaches are collaborative — you’ll be coached to direct your breath, make small mindful movements, and say what you notice.
  • Afterwards. Drink plenty of water and rest for the remainder of the day. Avoid strenuous training so your nervous system can integrate the changes.
  • Ongoing change. Your alignment and movement habits continue to adapt for several weeks after the final session.
  • Between sessions. Each session comes with a short review and homework, so the work continues at home.

Investment

$275 per 90-minute session

Both Manual Therapy and Somatic Therapy are priced the same. Payment is taken in person at the time of your session.

Cancellations require 48 hours’ notice. Without it, a $225 charge applies, and no-shows incur full charges.
